Welcome to Class 4 Years 5 and 6!

Class 4's topic this term is The Rainforest

Please click the link below to see the Medium Term Plan for this term created from the New National Curriculum.

There is also a copy of the spellings that children in Years 5 and 6 should know by the time they leave Aston Primary School.

Junior Safety Officer

This year's Junior Safety Officers are Sophie Wright and Freya Jones

Play Leaders

Many of the children in Class 4 have chosen to undertake the Play Leader Training with Artie Senior.  They were taught games and strategies to use at lunchtimes with children in Classes 1-3 so that they can get more out of their break times.  The Play Leaders will choose one person per lunchtime who has impressed them.  Their name will be enetered into a draw for that week!

Librarians

Many children in Class 4 are librarians.  They help to keep the library tidy and assist younger children choosing books.  If you would like help with the library system, why not ask a librarian to help you?  Could you complete a book review for a book you have recently read that could be read by the whole school?

P.E.

Class 4 do P.E. twice a week.  Sport is on a Monday and a Thursday.  Please ensure that your child has a white T-shirt and black shorts.  It would also be helpful if they had a pair of joggers, trainers and a jumper for if we manage to do P.E. outdoors.  P.E. kits should be brought to school on a Monday and taken home on a Friday.

Homework

Homework is sent out on a Friday and is to be returned to school on a Wednesday at the latest.  Homework usually entails children reading, learning their times tables, completing their pink spelling book and one or two other pieces which may include a project booklet or a literacy based activity.  Children have a Blue Home Spelling book which they take home Monday - Thursday to 'Look, Say, Cover, Write and Check' their spellings for the week.
