Admissions into Reception

Children who become five years old between 1 September 2025 and 31 August 2026 can start in the reception class in September 2024.  This relates to children who were born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021.

The application period will run from 1st September 2024 until 15th January 2025.

How do I do this?  If you are a Cheshire West & Chester resident:-

1.  Apply online - Please visit the below link and select the 'Reception admissions' option.

2.  Telephone the Authority on 0300 123 7039 to request a "Starting School" booklet which contains an application form.

This booklet can be viewed in all Cheshire West & Chester Primary Schools, your local library and your local Children's Centre.

If you are a resident in another English Authority you must apply via your home authority even if your preference is for a Cheshire West & Chester School.

If you are a resident in Wales, Scotland, Ireland or abroad and wish to apply for a school in Cheshire West & Chester, you can apply directly to Cheshire West and Chester Council as stated above.

In-Year Transfers

If you choose to move your child from their current school and would like a place at Aston by Sutton Primary School, please phone to arrange a tour and to speak to Mrs Plant (Headteacher).  When you're sure, contact the Admissions Team at Cheshire West and Chester.
